Permits you need
Tsomgo Lake, Nathula Pass and North Sikkim require permits (with ID and photos). Nathula is closed on Mondays & Tuesdays and is weather-dependent. We arrange all permits for you.

March–May for rhododendrons and clear Yumthang views; October–mid-December for crisp Kanchenjunga views; winter for snow around Tsomgo and North Sikkim (road conditions permitting).
How to reach
Reach NJP/Bagdogra by train or flight, then a scenic 4–5 hour drive to Gangtok. An overnight train from Kolkata to NJP is comfortable and budget-friendly.

Carry warm layers, a valid photo ID and a few passport photos for permits; acclimatise at high points; and consider combining Sikkim with Darjeeling.
